Dancing on Clouds: Low Fog for Wedding First Dances
Starting rates · exact quote within 24 hours
A thick, white cloud that hugs the floor and never rises — you appear to float through your first dance. The single most-requested wedding effect we offer.
What to Expect
The floating first dance
Stays at ankle height
Chilled fog is heavier than air — it pools across the floor in a dense white layer and won’t rise into faces or alarms.
No residue, no slip
The cloud evaporates without a trace. Floors stay dry and grippy — dance shoes and venue managers both approve.
Built for the photo
We time the cloud to peak as the song swells, and brief your photographer on the best angles before the dance.
Entrances too
Walk into your reception through a rolling cloud — the same effect, used twice, costs less than you think.

Safety & Your Venue
Venue-friendly by design
We’ve worked in banquet halls, hotels, community centres and backyards across Metro Vancouver — and we keep venue managers happy.
Venue-safe fluids & materials
Water-based, hypoallergenic and biodegradable — kind to floors, dance shoes and the planet.
We talk to your venue
Smoke alarms, ceiling height, house rules — we confirm requirements with your venue before the event, not on the day.
Operator-controlled
A trained Grand Show operator runs every effect. No fire, no pyrotechnics, no guesswork.
Designed to stay low
Low fog is chilled so it stays at floor level, well below ceiling detectors. We confirm venue requirements before booking and coordinate with your venue, DJ and planner.
Fully equipped
Machines, fluids, materials and backups all come with us — nothing for you to buy or rent separately.
Standard power is enough
Our equipment runs off a regular wall outlet. For outdoor sites without power, ask about battery options.

FAQ
Good to know
How much does Dancing on Clouds cost in Vancouver?
Pricing depends on your date, city, venue access and the moment you want to create. Starting rates are shown above, and we confirm your full quote in writing within 24 hours.
Will the floor get wet or slippery?
No. Unlike dry-ice buckets, our chilled-fog system leaves no condensation — the cloud evaporates completely. Dance floors stay dry and safe in heels.
How long does the cloud last?
We hold a dense cloud for 5–7 minutes — enough for a full song with buffer. For longer moments we run continuous top-ups.
Will it set off smoke alarms?
It is designed to stay low to the ground, well below ceiling detectors. We confirm venue requirements before booking and coordinate with your venue, so it works even in strict hotel ballrooms.
When should the cloud start?
We start building it during your intro so it peaks as the song swells. Our operator works from your DJ’s cue — you just dance.
Does low fog work outdoors?
Yes, on calm evenings — outdoors the cloud drifts gently which looks stunning on video. In wind we advise moving the moment under cover; we’ll plan a backup with you.
Does our venue need to approve the low fog machine?
Usually yes — most halls just want to know it’s a chilled, floor-hugging effect that doesn’t reach smoke detectors. We contact your venue directly, explain the equipment and provide insurance documents on request, so there are no surprises on the day.
How do you time it with our DJ and photographer?
We sync with both before the dance: the cloud starts building during the intro so it peaks as you reach the floor, and we agree the cue (a song, an announcement or a hand signal) with your DJ. Photographers get the burst direction in advance for the floating-on-clouds shot.
