Fog & Haze for Cinematic Lighting
Starting rates · exact quote within 24 hours
The invisible upgrade. Haze makes every beam of light visible and every photo deeper — it’s the difference between a hall with a DJ and a scene from a film.
What to Expect
Depth you can photograph
Light becomes visible
Haze catches every beam, laser and string light — your existing lighting suddenly looks three times more expensive.
Moments on cue
Dense fog bursts for entrances, stage reveals and dance-floor drops — fired by our operator at the exact beat.
Photographers request it
Backlit haze adds separation and glow to every portrait. Many photographers ask us to stay near the dance floor.
Venue-coordinated planning
We confirm smoke-detector type and house policy with your venue before the day. Venue-friendly setup, no drama.

We pack down & go
We pack our equipment away quietly and head out, right on schedule.
Safety & Your Venue
Venue-friendly by design
We’ve worked in banquet halls, hotels, community centres and backyards across Metro Vancouver — and we keep venue managers happy.
Venue-safe fluids & materials
Water-based, hypoallergenic and biodegradable — kind to floors, dance shoes and the planet.
We talk to your venue
Smoke alarms, ceiling height, house rules — we confirm requirements with your venue before the event, not on the day.
Operator-controlled
A trained Grand Show operator runs every effect. No fire, no pyrotechnics, no guesswork.
Smoke-alarm smart
We ask your venue about detector type up front and choose haze, fog or low fog accordingly — zero false alarms to date.
Fully equipped
Machines, fluids, materials and backups all come with us — nothing for you to buy or rent separately.
Standard power is enough
Our equipment runs off a regular wall outlet. For outdoor sites without power, ask about battery options.

FAQ
Good to know
How much does event fog or haze cost?
Pricing depends on your date, city, venue access and the moment you want to create. Starting rates are shown above, and we confirm your full quote in writing within 24 hours.
Will fog set off the venue’s smoke alarms?
Not if it’s planned. We confirm your venue’s detector type and policy before the event and choose the right effect and density. For sensitive venues, low fog is the alarm-proof alternative.
Is the fog safe to breathe?
Yes — we use water-based, hypoallergenic fluid, the same standard used in theatres and concert venues. No oil, no irritation.
What’s the difference between fog and haze?
Haze is a fine, almost invisible mist that makes light beams visible. Fog is thicker and visible on its own — used for bursts and atmosphere. Most events use a haze base plus fog moments.
Does haze really improve photos?
Dramatically. Backlit haze separates subjects from the background and gives every shot depth and glow — ask your photographer, they’ll say yes.
Can fog work outdoors?
Haze disperses quickly outside, but fog bursts work for outdoor stage moments in calm weather. For outdoor first dances, low fog is the better choice.
